- It is important to note that the internship placements grouped as "Medical" require interns to make a Ministry of Health contribution. This supports the operation of placements and covers supervision for interns on medical-related placements. This contribution is not included in the internship program fee; it must be made directly, in-country, under the direction and guidance of the Program Coordinator in Arusha. Interns will not be permitted to commence their placement until this has been covered. The amount of the Ministry of Health contribution varies, as it is not the same for every clinic/hospital. However, to cover the contribution sufficiently, we ask interns to budget up to US$75 per week.

- It is important to note that internships in Zanzibar require all participants to obtain a visa. We advise Zanzibar interns to purchase and obtain this in-country (at the airport, on arrival in Zanzibar). Interns receive details in advance, which outline instructions for this process (depending on your specific internship details), along with anticipated costs. Some interns are additionally required to purchase a Work Permit (US$400) in-country. Please note that the requirements and costs for such visas and/or permits are outside the control of Intern Abroad HQ and are subject to change without notice.

FAQs
The Program Fee for your internship is paid in installments. To confirm your participation, it’s necessary to pay a deposit first. The remaining balance of your Program Fee is paid secondarily. In total, this Program Fee covers a comprehensive support package, including internship arrangement. Internships abroad include airport pick-up, accommodation, orientation, select meals (in some destinations), and more. Additional services, such as academic credit, tour excursions, accommodation upgrades, or language classes, will incur extra costs. See more in the Terms & Conditions.
For individual programs, the Program Fee must be paid in full no less than 60 calendar days before your chosen start date (for destinations outside Australia). The Deposit is due to secure your place and needs to be covered well in advance of final payment deadline. Subject to availability, internships may be arranged at short-notice. Contact our team to enquire. Further Program Fees details are outlined in the Terms & Conditions.
If your preferred internship start date is more than 4 months away, our Flexi Deposit option can provide a safeguard, to ensure you’re eligible for a refund, should plans change. Program Fee payments are non-refundable if you withdraw or change your plans after the final payment deadline. Fees are non-transferable. For specifics, review the Terms & Conditions.
